Apparent Beating at Nursing Home

Tuesday, February 15th, 2005.

A Philadelphia nursing home resident was brutally beaten and the police are searching for an employee of the nursing home believed be responsible for the attack. The patient, suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, is recovering in a local hospital. The male nurse’s aide suspected in the attack was interviewed by police at the nursing home, but took off while police were conducting their investigation.

Police are calling this a heinous crime. An elderly nursing home patient may have been beaten by the person who was hired to do take care of him. The patient is wheelchair bound, suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, can’t speak or communicate, but police say the pictures say it all. Photographs taken of the 72-year-old patient show injuries that investigators suspect were caused by a male nurse’s aide at the Delaware Valley Veteran’s nursing home.
