RED OAK, Iowa A former nursing assistant has been accused of abusing elderly residents of a nursing home in Red Oak in southwest Iowa.
Thirty-six-year-old Richard Lang of Red Oak is charged with four counts of intentional dependent adult abuse causing injury.

Montgomery County Attorney Bruce Swanson says Lang pushed and tripped residents, and pulled the pillow out from behind another resident’s head, causing her to hit her head on the headboard. Swanson says the residents suffered cuts, scrapes and bruises.

State officials say the incidents happened between September 2002 and March 2004, when Lang was at the Red Oak Samaritan Center.

Lang is being held on 100-thousand dollars bond. His trial is set May third.
