One-third of Alberta’s seniors homes fail standards

Edmonton, Alberta — Almost one-third of long-term care homes reviewed by Alberta’s auditor general failed or only partly met basic standards of care for seniors.
Lynda Jonson, a seniors advocate who toured more than 100 facilities after her mother-in-law died of an infection at her nursing home, said she wasn’t surprised by Dunn’s findings.
