Nurse’s aide guilty of abuse; Brunswick woman pleads no contest to charges she fed patients laxatives

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005.

Medina, OH - A nurse’s aide who along with a co-worker fed laxatives to five elderly patients at a Brunswick nursing home — in order to make life difficult for a nurse working the day shift — was found guilty of five counts of patient abuse Monday.

Susan Mejak, 39, of Brunswick entered a no contest plea to the charges before Medina County Common Pleas Judge Christopher Collier.

Mejak could face a maximum of 18 months on each count when she appears for sentencing Aug. 1.
