Chicago, IL — A mentally disabled 23-year-old woman who a lawsuit alleged was sexually assaulted at a Bloomingdale nursing home and became pregnant has given birth, the woman’s attorney said Thursday.

The woman had resided at the Alden Village Health Facility for Children and Young Adults, 267 E. Lake St. in Bloomingdale, until June 11, when she was removed by her mother, according to attorney Edward Fox.

A lawsuit was filed on July 14 by Fox on behalf of the woman and her mother, Cheryl Hale-Crom.

The lawsuit claimed that in November or December 2004, the woman was “sexually assaulted and physically abused by agents and employees” of the nursing home, and became pregnant as a result.
