Former Marysville nursing home worker found guilty of elder abuse
Friday, July 29th, 2005.
Marysville, CA – A Yuba County jury convicted a former Marysville nursing home worker of elder abuse for leaving a 98-year-old Alzheimer patient outside the facility overnight.
Debbie Montes, 25, could be sentenced to up to six months in jail.
The victim, Mildred Taylor, was found scantily clad and shivering in her wheelchair on a patio the next morning. She died about a month later.
After the incident, the nursing home – Prestige Assisted Living – promised to improve its procedures. The California Department of Social Services cited the facility for violating Taylor’s rights but did not fine the company.

I was told by my sister to check this article out. She was just let go from there for trying to help people that were being mistreated. I think you need to speak to her and she will give you all the information you need on this place. Not only do they ignore the care of the people there, there is staff taking the meds there. She has taken all the steps to file a complaint but she doesn’t feel as if things are being taken seriously. PLEASE contact her at latanyamcgee@hotmail.com
