County home addresses problems, but financial woes persist

Goshen – Already coping with a high vacancy rate and growing deficits, officials at the county’s 520-bed nursing home spent the summer correcting more than a dozen problems highlighted in a recent health inspection.
During a weeklong visit in May, state and federal inspectors found residents who weren’t being fed properly, workers who lacked proper medical training and at least one employee who had been hired without a mandatory background check.
