Handling Nursing Home Woes

Rochester, NY – Fourteen employees of the Jennifer Matthew Nursing and Rehabilitation Center have been suspended without pay while the New York State attorney general’s office investigates the Portland Avenue nursing home.
A hidden camera there allegedly recorded video of the workers falsifying a patient’s medical records and other documents. The center’s director said their actions did not jeopardize patient care and the workers will face charges.
The nursing home has been cited by the state previously for patient care violations, including alleged abuse, neglect, and failing to provide quality care.
