Woman Admits To Sucking Medicine From Patient’s Patch; Judge Orders Nursing Assistant To Complete Drug Treatment Programs

Westernport, MD - A nursing assistant pleaded guilty on Thursday to sucking medication from a patient’s pain patch.

The state attorney general’s office identified that person as Megan Oglesbee, who worked as a nursing assistant at Moran Manor Nursing Home in Westernport, Md. She pleaded guilty in a plea deal to one count of neglect of a vulnerable adult.

According to court documents, Oglesbee admitted to removing a 72-hour pain patch from a nursing home resident and sucking out the medication. The documents indicate that Oglesbee asked a coworker for help to reattach the patch to the patient, and that coworker became suspicious.
