Nursing Home Managers Indicted For Patient Abuse, Medicare/Medicaid Fraud

Thursday, November 17th, 2005.

St. Louis, MO - A federal grand jury has indicted American Healthcare Management Inc., its Chief Executive Officer and three nursing homes. The indictment is for conspiracy connected to the failure of care and abuse of elderly residents.

[Bonnie Thorpe's] mother had Alzheimer’s Disease and was a resdient at Claywest House Healthcare in St. Charles. Bonnie says patients there were often neglected, dehydrated, and malnourished. She says, “There were times they would not get fed. In fact it was in the records that my mother had not been fed for a week before she died.”
