Care Manor faces lawsuit in death of 80-year-old woman

Mountain Home, AK - A wrongful death lawsuit filed Thursday in Baxter County Circuit Court against Care Manor of Baxter County alleges abuse and neglect of a patient who died March 2.
Vera Jean Burk was in the facility from Nov. 12, 2004, until March 1 and died after being taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was 80.
The lawsuit accuses Care Manor of violating Arkansas’ long-term care residents’ protection act, medical malpractice and negligence; breach of contract; and wrongful death.
