Nursing Home Fined After Patient Raped, Impregnated; State: Facility Failed To Protect Patient

Chicago, IL - A Bloomingdale health care facility where a 23-year-old disabled patient was raped and impregnated has been fined $10,000.
Alden Village Health Facility was cited with 19 violations by the state of Illinois for failing to protect Amy Jo Hale from abuse. The center was also given a six month conditional license, NBC5 reported.
The state also found that the main nurse who cared for Hale reported that she vomited almost every day five months before the pregnancy was discovered. As a result of the delay, Hale received no prenatal care and continued to be given powerful anti-seizure drugs, NBC5 reported.
