State: Nursing home didn’t report sexual abuse

Port Charlotte, FL — A Charlotte County nursing home is barred from accepting new residents after state officials say its administrators failed to report and respond to dozens of sexual abuse allegations.
The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration issued the emergency order. It says the Peace River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is closed to new residents.
