Big Rapids, MI - Eight employees of Metron Nursing Facility of Big Rapids are charged in connection with the death of 50-year-old Sarah Comer. Comer’s oxygen tank was allegedly never changed and ran out, causing her death. It is also alleged her death was covered up.

What allegedly happened to Sarah Comer is heartbreaking, but unfortunately not unheard of. There are many quality nursing homes and assisted living facilities. However, according to the Department of Justice, every year more than two million older Americans are the victims of suspected abuse or neglect. It also says that as many as one in five cases aren’t reported.
