Manatee, FL – A registered nurse who works at Blake Medical Center was arrested Thursday on a homicide charge related to the nursing home death of a 50-yearold woman in Michigan.

Cheryl Lynn Williams, 41, who lives in the 4500 block of 100th Street West, was taken into custody by Palmetto Police officers who were acting on a warrant issued by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.

“Ms. Williams was a nurse at a nursing home in Big Rapids, Mich.,” said Nate Bailey, spokesman for Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox. “There was a patient who died as a result of not having her oxygen tank replaced when it ran out. There was then a subsequent cover-up of the incident by the nursing home staff.”
