Former nursing home workers plead guilty in laxative prank

Frankfort, KY – What was intended as a prank on co-workers ended with felony convictions for two former Irvine nursing home workers who pleaded guilty to criminal abuse for giving laxatives to patients who did not need them.
The defendants, Lisa Kilburn and Kim Congleton, pleaded guilty today in Estill County Circuit Court and had their five-year prison sentence probated. The two workers were accused of giving laxative suppositories that were not medically necessary and had not been ordered as part of the patients’ treatment at Irvine Health and Rehabilitation Center.
