Nursing home abuse claims spark oversight changes

DE – In response to hours of testimony about negligence and abuse, the Joint Sunset Committee has made about 30 recommendations to change the state agency that monitors nursing homes.
Among possible changes are increasing pay for nursing home inspectors, adding more quality assurance personnel positions, and forming a subcommittee to investigate specific allegations.
