Lakeside Heights may lose its license

Highland Heights, KY – The troubled Lakeside Heights Nursing Center could be closed in 30 days under a notice issued Thursday by Kentucky’s Inspector General.
Inspector General Robert Benvenuti III notified the Highland Heights nursing home that its state operating license will be revoked in 30 days and the center, the largest nursing home in the state, will be closed. Lakeside can appeal during that period.
Benvenuti based his decision on a state inspection that ended on March 6, said Beth Crace, a spokeswoman for the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Benvenuti has called the inspection results the worst he has seen in his 26 months on the job.
