County care facilities compared

Leavenworth, KS – Of the six senior care facilities certified for Medicare in Leavenworth County, four have 20 or more deficiencies noted by the Kansas Department on Aging. Information comparing the care facilities within the county is a public record that is available online on the Medicare Web site, www.medicare.gov.
The care facilities include Colonial Manor of Lansing, Country Care, Inc., in Easton, Country Care on Broadway, Cushing Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, Medicalodge of Leavenworth and Tonganoxie Nursing Center in Tonganoxie. All of the information was reported on the Medicare Web site because the facilities are Medicare and Medicaid certified.
According to the Medicare site, Medicalodge had 29 total deficiencies that have been noted during inspections in the past 15 months.
