Parents of patient file lawsuit

Spartanburg, SC - The parents of a woman they believe was neglected and abused at a home operated by the Charles Lea Center have taken legal action against the Spartanburg special-needs facility.

Diane Cartee, who died in 2005 at age 52, suffered unexplained burns and broken bones during her stay at the facility, say her parents, C.L. and Charleen Cartee of Campobello. The Cartees believe those injuries eventually led to their daughter’s death and have sued the center on grounds of negligence leading to wrongful death.

Their lawsuit was filed in the Court of Common Pleas for Spartanburg County.
