Roslyn Nursing Home Found Guilty of Negligence

Friday, May 26th, 2006.

New York, NY - A jury in Nassau County returned a guilty verdict on Thursday for negligence against a nursing home, where a Vietnam vet was left outside in the 95 degree sun.

Jurors awarded the patient’s family 3 million dollars for abuse, and neglect, said the family’s attorney David Woycik.

Russell Alston, 62, a retired NYC corrections officer and Vietnam veteran of Uniondale Long Island, was a patient at the Sunharbor Manor Nursing Home in Roslyn.
