Waupaca County-owned nursing home facing $107,750 in sanctions

Weyauwega, WI - State and federal fines, now totaling more than $100,000 and imposed on Waupaca County’s Lakeview Manor Nursing Home, will have to be borne by county taxpayers, the county finance director says.

On May 2, the Department of Health and Family Services issued penalties totaling $52,000 for the violations spotted during a survey by state inspectors in February.The fines come on top of a federal penalty of $52,000 issued shortly after the inspections revealed what was characterized as “a substandard quality of care.”
