Florida nursing home owner arrested after ex-patient dies

Port St. Lucie, FL - A nursing home owner was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated neglect of an elderly person after her 100-year-old patient developed pressure sores that led to “health deterioration” and eventual death five days after she was moved from the facility.
The State Attorney General’s Medicaid fraud unit arrested Marcia Murray, 48, at her home in the 500 block of N.W. Lincoln Avenue on Wednesday morning.
Authorities began an investigation after the former resident died in March. She was not identified.
