Report cites emotional abuse at nursing home: Investigation says worker used resident’s dementia against her
Saturday, July 29th, 2006.
Grand Rapids, MN - An employee of a Grand Rapids, Minn., nursing home emotionally abused one of its residents this spring, telling a woman suffering from dementia that he would “kill” her baby doll, according to the results of a state investigation released this week.
The employee, a certified nursing assistant, was accused of getting frustrated with and threatening the Grand Village nursing home resident April 29 after trying to change her clothes.
The resident believes her baby doll is her real son and that she is in the process of adopting him, according to the investigative report filed Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health.
