Urbandale Nursing Home Faces Possible Closure

Des Moines, IA - One of the state’s largest nursing homes is in jeopardy of being closed. Administrators at USA Healthcare in Urbandale were notified yesterday that state officials intend to revoke the nursing home’s license at the end of next month.
Federal officials are also stopping funds for Medicare and Medicaid starting Friday. Both actions come after reports of residents being subjected to neglect and physical abuse. Ninety-seven of the 111 seniors living at the home depend on government funding.
