Nurse’s Aide Admits To Abusing Nursing Home Resident

Haverstraw, NY - A former certified nurse’s aid at the Northern Riverview Nursing has admitted that she abused an elderly patient.
Yolette Joseph, 49, of Spring Valley, pleaded guilty in Haverstraw Village Court to violating Public Health Law and faces up to one year in jail when she’s sentenced on March 22.
Joseph admitted that on July 20, 2006, she was arguing with a 69-year-old wheelchair-bound patient who suffered from dementia, while she and another CNA were placing him in bed.
