Possible case of abuse reported at nursing home

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007.

Georgetown, SC - Possible abuse at a local nursing home is being investigated by the Georgetown Police Department and the state. On Friday, police took a report about a woman whose 89-year-old mother is a resident of Georgetown Healthcare Assisted Living on South Island Road.

The woman said she was visiting her mother and saw bruises on her left eye and face. The concerns of the woman were passed on to the state and Ombudsman Tasia Stackhouse. She is the one who called police, according to an incident report.
