State closes nursing home; Litchfield Nursing Centre ordered to shut down by April 30

Hillsdale, MI  – The Litchfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre has been told to close by the Michigan Department of Community Health….

After state and federal employees conducted their annual survey of the facility, mandated for long–term care, Litchfield was given 29 citations. Of those, according to the survey, three [patients] were in immediate jeopardy. There were four citations involving harm to patients with pressure sores, and lack of range of motion; other citations involved substandard quality of accommodations, abuse and neglect offenses, Bucholz said.
