Suit filed in death of woman during heat wave

Stockton, CA – Relatives of a 79-year-old woman who died when Beverly Healthcare Center’s air conditions went out last summer amid a record heat wave filed a wrongful death lawsuit today seeking an unspecified amount of money.

Joan Southern died July 22, 2006, while living at the Stockton nursing home at 4545 Shelley Court, which now operates under the name of Golden LivingCenter-Stockton.
