Local Nursing Home Responds To Abuse Allegations

Mattoon, IL – A Central Illinois nursing home is making changes after serious accusations of patient abuse. The state says it happened in February at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon. The nursing home has been fined $30,000 because of the incident. A nurse is accused of actually holding down a resident in order to give them their medication, and threatening another resident with an injection if they didn’t agree to take theirs. One man whose mother lives next to the home says he can’t believe it.
