Central Illinois nursing home fined $25,000 over abuse allegations

Girard, IL - The state has fined a central Illinois nursing home $25,000 over allegations that workers abused and taunted residents.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says two nurse’s aides at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard committed the abuse. Both aides have been fired.
Girard police Sergeant Harold Gist says the department is also investigating the accusations and that criminal charges are possible.
