Veterans’ home review reveals incidents of violence

Murfreesboro, TN - Incidents of nursing home residents attacking other residents and carrying razor blades as weapons convinced state inspectors that the Tennessee Veterans’ Home in Murfreesboro is still failing to protect residents from one another, an October inspection report shows.
Several episodes of resident-on-resident abuse, including one incident that resulted in hospitalization, also were uncovered during a June state inspection. Ongoing problems at the nursing home have caused it to be fined thousands of dollars and stripped of its ability to accept new patients three times in 16 months.
