Former nursing home employee charged with elder abuse

Monday, November 19th, 2007.

Beaufort, SC - The former nursing home employee accused of tossing an 89-year-old woman into a hallway has turned herself in, according to a Beaufort County sheriff’s report.

Saffiyah S. Scott, 28, of Ridgeland was charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult, a felony carrying up to five years in prison. She was booked in the Beaufort County Detention Center on Wednesday night and released the following day on her own recognizance.
