Louisville nursing home on federal ‘troubled’ list; chronic ills seen at 3 sites in state

Frankfort, KY - A Louisville nursing home is among three Kentucky facilities on a federal list of chronically troubled nursing homes….
The Louisville home, the Highlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, was cited for eight health deficiencies, the Herald-Leader said. They included failure to hire only people with no criminal history of abuse, mistreatment or neglect, or failure to report acts of abuse, mistreatment or neglect; failure to treat residents to prevent bedsores; and failure to assist residents with eating, drinking, grooming and hygiene, the paper reported.
