Michigan Nursing Home Inspections
Friday, January 11th, 2008.
Lansing, MI - At least once every year nursing homes are inspected, unannounced, by the Bureau of Health Systems. Last year out of the 409 nursing homes, in our state, 394 required return visits.
"That’s a very small number, 15 out of 409, that actually met the requirements on the first visit."
However, numbers did drop to just 90 requiring a third inspection, 14 requiring a fourth, and only 1 requiring a fifth. Seven were shutdown.
