Woodlands in Ravenna sued for alleged abuse

Ravenna, OH – The victim of an alleged sexual assault last year at The Woodlands at Robinson, the Portage County-owned nursing home in Ravenna, and her son are suing the facility, the county and the accused abuser.

The lawsuit filed by the woman and her son, Ryan Hill of Warren, seeks $10 million in punitive damages and in excess of $25,000 for severe physical and emotional injuries and ongoing distress, humiliation, pain and suffering and loss of funds.

Ben W. Detweiler, 81, of 4342 Fairgrounds Road, Randolph, is still awaiting trial on one count of rape, a first-degree felony, and two counts of gross sexual imposition, both fourth-degree felonies.
