Claremont, NH - The financial problems and chronic deficits at Sullivan County Health Care have been the topic of discussion among county commissioners and delegation members over the past two years. But caring for the poor and elderly of our community and how to pay for that care has been a contentious issue since our country was founded.
This article is the first in a three-part series looking at the history of elderly care in the county, where we stand today and what the future holds for what once was labeled "the poor farm."
