Family of nursing home rape victim file civil suit

Sandusky, OH – The family of a nursing home resident allegedly assaulted by a nurse has filed a civil suit against the former caregiver.
The family of the 55-year-old man, who also prompted the police investigation of the case, on Wednesday filed the lawsuit against nurse John R. Riems, who has been charged with rape, gross sexual imposition, patient abuse and sexual battery against the man and another man.
The lawsuit also names Concord Care & Rehabilitation Center as a defendant in the case.
