State blamed for nursing home citing

Williamsville, NY – A second Western New York nursing home, Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home LLC, has been added to the list of the country’s worst senior care facilities.
But owner Richard Zacher said the listing is a strong-arm tactic to force him to close the facility, as prescribed by the state Commission on Health Care Facilities in the 21st Century.
The two-building, 220-bed nursing home is among 27 nationwide recently identified by the federal government as having a pattern of serious resident-care problems.
