Former Nursing Home Employee Says Staff Pressured To Move Residents

Friday, February 22nd, 2008.

East Peoria, IL - East Peoria Gardens nursing home is now empty of residents –and the eight remaining staff members suspect they are next.

Staff and residents said they found out last weekend that the facility was closing. The state confirmed that later this week.

For the past year the Health Care Center’s been hit with controversy ranging from improper management to allegations of abuse.

Some former employees and a resident’s parent says, during the Center’s final days, clients were treated like animals.
