Admissions to Milan Health Care Center suspended

Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Susan Cooper suspended new admissions of residents to Milan Health Care Center nursing home effective Thursday and imposed a state civil monetary penalty of $3,000, according to a press release. Additionally, a federal civil penalty has been imposed at $5,300 a day.

Milan Health Care Center, a 66-bed licensed nursing home at 8060 Stinson St. in Milan, was ordered not to admit any new residents based on conditions found during an annual survey conducted Feb. 11 through Feb. 20, the release says. During the survey, surveyors found violations of protection from abuse, administration, nursing services, performance improvement, and social services standards.
