Nursing home cited by state: New admissions halted at Palmyra Health Care Center

Clarksville, TN - The state has suspended new admissions to a Palmyra-based nursing home after multiple violations were discovered earlier this month.

Palmyra Health Care Center has until April 25 to submit a plan of correction on multiple safety violations, have it approved at the federal level and demonstrate it’s being implemented.

In response to a 170-page report, Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Susan R. Cooper suspended new admissions to the nursing home, which has been in effect since Monday, said Andrea Turner, Tennessee Department of Health spokeswoman.
