The ‘kidnapping’ at nursing home needs a motive

Allentown, PA – There are allegations that too many nursing homes, motivated by greed, keep patients against their will or the will of families just to collect Medicare and Medicaid payments.
There are allegations of understaffing, inferior care and abuse — including helpless elderly patients with injuries or untreated bedsores, lying in beds soaked by urine and caked with feces for days.
There are allegations that some nursing homes hire people like serial killer Charles Cullen to care for their residents. (Actually, that one is not just an allegation.)
There are allegations (by the National Citizen’s Coalition for Nursing Home Reform) that nursing homes often seek legal action to retaliate against family members if they complain about abuse.
