Abused elderly have a place to turn: The Eddy in Troy opens a shelter to offer victims 24-hour assistance

Friday, May 9th, 2008.

Albany, NY - "We may be able to save a life or prevent an elder from living in fear," said Jo-Ann Costantino, chief executive officer of The Eddy.

Troy Police Capt. John Cooney praised The Eddy, saying police have 24-hour assistance for child abuse, sexual assaults and domestic abuse cases, but there was nobody to call at 3 a.m for an elderly person in trouble, until now.
