Attorney General calls for new federal role in nursing home industry

Stamford, CT – Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, in formal testimony before Congress in Washington, D.C., today, called for major federal and state initiatives to protect patients from fraud and financial collapse at nursing homes controlled by large-scale conglomerates nationwide.
Appearing before the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Blumenthal proposed a powerful federal-state partnership — including a “strike force” to rapidly investigate nursing home corruption.
