State reopens nursing home abuse details

Des Moines, IA - The state of Iowa on Tuesday reversed a decision to keep secret the names of people fired from care facilities for abusing elderly and disabled clients.
The decision to restore public access to the information was made by Attorney General Tom Miller’s office. It came nine months after the state first began to limit access to the information, and nine days after The Des Moines Register published an article that put a spotlight on the practice.
