Nursing home settles with state for violating reporting laws

Colchester, VT - A Colchester nursing home will pay $4,000 in restitution to the Vermont Medicaid Program and has agreed to be monitored at its own expense as part of a civil suit settlement with the state, the Attorney General’s Office said today.
The Green Mountain Nursing Home has admitted to violating state’s laws on the reporting of abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults, and for failing to report an untimely death to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The death happened after a series of assaults by another resident, Attorney General’s officials said.
