Special Focus: Mt. Ogden

Salt Lake City, UT – At the request of Congress, the federal government has released a list of the worst performing nursing homes in the nation.

Mt. Ogden Health and Rehabilitation is the only Utah nursing home listed. These "special focus facilities" have the worst track record over the last three years and must have two satisfactory inspections in a row to "graduate" from the program. The last Utah home on the list, Rock Canyon Rehabilitation, was replaced in October by Mt Ogden.

In 2005, two Mt. Ogden residents died in part because of negligence. One patient was left unattended in a pool and drowned. The next year, the home didn’t report an allegation of abuse.
