More Nursing Home Inspectors Sought For Cincinnati

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008.

Cincinnati, OH - When Cora McGuire sat down before a Cincinnati city council committee Tuesday, her message was simple and blunt.

"We need three more nursing home inspectors or we might as well turn the inspections over to the State of Ohio," she told members of the Health, Environment and Education Committee.

Nursing homes in the Cincinnati are inspected by the city and the state.

There was also talk of toughening laws for violations of the city’s municipal code, developing a written protocol for investigating complaints and posting signs giving a phone number residents and/or their families can call is problems develop.
