Andover nurse accused in nursing home abuse pleads not guilty

The nurse charged with mistreating a patient at an Andover nursing home has pleaded not guilty. Geofrey Nyanswego appeared in a Butler County courtroom Monday. Kansas nursing home fined for abuse of residents

The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services informed the Andover nursing home of abuse allegations on March 26 after an inspector interviewed 27 of the facility’s 63 residents. That inspection showed one resident suffered verbal and physical abuse from four staff members, and another was being abused by a fellow resident.
